Canon PowerShot SX260 HS Digital Camera; 1/15s, f/3.5, ISO 400, focal length 4.5mm
Photo taken Aug. 24, 2012

This is the first photo I took with my brand new pocket camera, looking down into my LG washer, which is also fairly new. I love the huge shiny stainless steel tub and the “wave action” that has replaced the old-style agitator.

Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

  • Thanks very much, Lou. I couldn’t resist that shiny tub with my new camera in my hand and looking for something to try it out on. LOL

Fabulous, Dot! Have fun with that new camera – if this is any example, you’ll love it!

  • Thank you, Monnie. I got it for the better zoom…my old pocket camera was 3x and this one is 20. I just tried it out on a tree across the street and the clarity was good…great image stabilizer! Also 12 px as opposed to 5, so it will be much more versatile. Can’t always carry around the Canon Rebel.

Who would have ever thought to photograph the inside of a washing machine, but this really works! I love it, Dot! Such interesting patterns, shapes, and textures!

  • LOL It just happened that I had just unloaded the washer, then put the charged battery in the new camera, so I was looking around for something to try it out on. I appreciate your comment, Bonnie.

I love the treatment Dear Dot…black and white is the perfect choice….I’m looking forward to more from Your new artistic brush!!! Love the way You see Your world My Friend!!!

Speaking of old agitators…My Wife is due home any minute!!!!

  • LOL I won’t tell her you said that if you give her some flowers!!!!
This was almost black and white, seeing that it’s stainless steel, but it did have a few color casts from the flash I guess. I should post the original too.
    Thank you, my friend!

My apologies!!!! Viewed large and closely the color cast is there….forgive Me My Friend!!!!

  • No, Noble, you were right. This is a b/w version. I’ll add the original so you can see the difference.

    – AuntDot

  • Here’s the original (also added above). I think I might like it better than the b/w, but I’m not sure.

Cool shot Dot! I never would have guessed that this was looking down inside a washing machine lol….. My first thought was that it’s some kind of hubcap off a car lol….. Your new camera takes VERY nice photo’s.

  • Thanks so much, Dennis. I thought of a hubcap, too! So far I’m happy with my new toy!
