Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

Looks like they’re too sleepy to notice the “intruder!” Beautiful, Dot!
Thanks, Monnie. It reminded me of a pre-school workbook page where the kid has to pick the one that doesn’t belong. LOL

Wonderful to see these birds. I have to mention that we have only 2 Flamingos in our Adelaide Zoo here Dot! One is 80 years old. Last year some kids jumped the railing of the Flamingo enclosure and bashed the 80 year old Flamingo and almost killed it. It took zoo officials and police only a few days to capture the bastards! The Flamingo recovered after intense vet care and it took a long time for it to trust again. The kids that were cruel to him got off with a slap on the wrist through the courts and the public were furious about it.
Thanks Janine. What a horrible cruel thing for those kids to do! I didn’t know flamingoes lived that long. Amazing that one survived the attack!
Hubby had a mild stroke on Sunday and is now home resting comfortably. Scary, but he’ll be okay, just needs a little physical therapy as he still wobbles when he walks. With all this, I haven’t been on much to comment, etc., but I do try to see everything.
