This wren was sitting on the edge of the roof in front of our house in Dunnellon, Florida. I was inside and spotted it through the high arched window above the front door and ran for the camera. I was so excited because I don’t think I’ve seen a wren around my house in Florida before. We used to have them in the bushes in front of our house in Connecticut years ago. This was not an easy shot, as it was at an odd angle and had to be taken from inside my dining room, while trying to avoid the decoration on the ledge of the arched window.

Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

Looks good with the texture and against a pastel.

  • Thanks, Judy. I just added the original photo and also tweaked it a bit. You can see how little I had to work with. I know it’s not the best photo in the world, but I didn’t want to toss it, since I just love wrens!
