Two of my images combined. The Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida and two birds captured flying over the pond at Seminole Park in Seminole, Florida. The two locations are approximately 100 miles apart, hence the title.

Photos combined in Picasa3, tuned in Photoshop
This little video shows so much of why I love the Rainbow River:

FEATURED in Cee’s Fun Artsy Friends, March 15, 2011

Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

This is wonderful Dot! Isn’t photoshop amazing and fun? :-)

  • Thanks, Brenda. Most work on this was done in Picasa3, just slight tuning in Photoshop. I wish I knew Photoshop better, but at this point I think I need lessons. So much of it I just can’t figure out on my own.

Beautiful work, Dot! I still don’t know how to do this.

  • Thank you, Judy. For this one I just combined two images in the “collage” feature in Picasa, the double exposure type. I then tuned it in Photoshop, but you can do that in Picasa as well. What are you using? I know my way around Picasa, but I’m still learning Photoshop. These two images just happened to fit together well.

This is beautiful!!! Like Judy, I do not know how to combine things like this. I have started working with someone to learn my PS Elements and we did some layering last week and I did a magnetic lasso and cut out a rose then we combined the rose with a background. It’s nice enough but I think it I need more learning – lol : ). I read what you wrote to Judy so I will check it out : ).

  • Thank you, Ann. I find it so difficult to learn Photoshop on my own. A few RB friends have helped me do some things via Bubblemail, but I really need to sit with someone who knows the program. You’re lucky you have someone who can teach you! It’s better than the trial and error method.
