Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

Beautiful shot Dot. Hasn’t it got fabulous markings

  • Thanks, Angela. Yes, it does have beautiful markings, and I’m so glad it stayed long enough for me to capture it. I have another shot of the same kind of butterfly coming up tomorrow.

Wow! This is a superb capture of this gorgeous butterfly, Dot! I have not been to the butterfly garden in Gainesville, even though my son graduated from their law school a few years back. It will be one of my next destinations.

  • Thanks, Judy! I think you’ll really enjoy it. Right now when it’s really hot the butterflies are very active flying around. When it’s cooler, in the mid 60’s and the 70’s, they are less active and easier to photograph. That according to one of the guides that work there.
