Caught this pretty blue dragonfly near the edge of the Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida. The photo was a little out of focus, so I have tried to salvage it by using the poster edge filter in Photoshop.

Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

oho, what a lucky catch. I just love dragonflies soooo much, you don’t see them much about anymore. Wonderful!

  • Thank you Sonia. Nice to hear from you!

Sure is a pretty one, Dot! The ones around here don’t seem to be very colorful, and they don’t light on much of anything for more than a split second, either.

  • Yes, it’s hard to get a shot, they are so quick! I was intrigued by the color — it was very bright.

Look at the color of that! Well seen and captured Dot. I know they are not easy…they move fast!

  • That’s for sure! They don’t sit and pose for you! LOL Thanks, my friend!

Fabulous shot Dot. You salvaged well. How big was it?

  • Thanks, Angela. I think it was pretty big for a dragonfly, but not huge. I leaned down to get this shot, probably why it was a little out of focus. I’m not that steady-handed leaning over. LOL

Great shot Dot..these little guys are hard to capture..but you did and wonderfully..

  • Thank you, my friend. Just wish I got a better focus, but it was such a colorful dragonfly, I wanted to upload it anyway!
