This was taken at Fort San Cristobal in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico using an Olympus OM 10 camera and traditional film. It was taken during a cruise in 1990.
Fort San Cristobal, or CASTILLO DE SAN CRISTOBAL, was begun in 1634 and completed about 150 years later. It is one of the largest defences ever built in the Americas. Covering 27 acres of land, it rises 150 feet. Its intricate modular design and its massive size was sure to intimidate enemies. A strategic masterpiece, it features five independent units, each connected by moat and tunnel. Each unit was fully self-sufficient in case the others were to be taken by the enemy.
In 1983 Fort San Cristobal was named part of the World Heritage UNESCO Site List as San Juan National Historic Site.
