Another roadside shot at a cattle farm in Ocala, Florida.

This is a “Belted Galloway” cow – a breed of cattle that comes out of Scottish stock, now bred in the U.S. and elsewhere. Thanks to Ruth Lambert for the info on the breed!

Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

You find the most interesting cows!

  • I’ve developed a love for cows. I had a little trouble with this one. In order to see her eyes, I had to really lighten the picture, so the fence looks a little washed out, but the cow does stand out.

You are a SILLY HEAD (in the most wonderful way).. hehehe.. this picture makes me hug myself.. EXCELLENT JOB!!! (the title just throws it over the top) (I think your subject knows they are a draw :)

  • Thanks for the great comment and for the favorite. This one and The Panda Cow were lucky finds as far as the color patterns go. Picking titles is half the fun. I’m happy to have spread a little humor!

Great capture!! You know, I never seen this type o fcow before moving to Kentucky! And here they have some that are bred to be half white and half brown—- they look like Hershey and Cream!!

  • Hi Ruth. I thought I was seeing things at first – this cow was so unusual looking. Not that I know a lot about cows, I don’t. I didn’t go looking for the odd one, it just happened to be standing there. Thanks for your comment!

    cheers, Rosie xoxo

  • Thank you, Rosie. I couldn’t resist a shot of her when I saw her. I don’t know much about cattle, but someone told me this coloring is bred on purpose.

This cow looks to have very fluffy hair out of her ears, composed very nicely.

  • Yes, it does look that way! Thank you for visiting and for your nice comment.
