Canon PowerShot SX260 HS; 1/60s, f/3.5, ISO 800, focal length 4.5mm

Three days ago we welcomed this cute little Lhasa Apso to our family. She is 12 weeks old, and we call her Daisy. Housebreaking takes a lot of time and attention. I’m taking antihistamines in the hopes that I will be able to live with this little one and not have my asthma bother me. It’s a non-shedding dog, but no dog is absolutely non-allergenic as some people think. Wish me luck! She will be good for me in that I will get out of my chair more often and go on longer and longer walks as she matures. My heart still belongs to Greyhounds, but this smaller dog is a better choice for me right now. Isn’t she cute?

Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh….gracious me, what a love bug! You will grow to love her in a way that is indescribable! She will provide a human-like companionship and sometimes you’ll forget she’s not a human! lolol:) Enjoy, my friend.

  • Thank you, Pat. If I come to love her half as much as I loved Abby my greyhound, that will be great. Just hope I can handle my allergies…say a prayer for me. I sure would hate to have to give her up. Seems I’m allergic to some dogs and others not so much. I’m getting stuffy, but no wheezing so far. Don’t know how long I can take antihistamines daily. I’ll have to ask my doctor.

It looks as though Daisy is turning into quite the little model! I have taken antihistamines every day for a number of years in addition to my asthma meds. My Doc has me go in for lab work about every 3 months, mainly to be sure that the meds are not taking a toll on my liver functioning properly. I hope you will be able to work out a way to keep yourself healthy and keep this treasure with you:) Sandy

  • Me too! The only asthma med I take is albuterol inhaler when I need it. Sometimes I renew it without ever having to use it (it just gets past the expiration date), but I won’t be without it. When I need it, I need it! So far the antihistamine is working pretty well. Time will tell.
