I Take the No. 23 Home.

Artist's Description

A future world where the ground is so contaminated that humans have abandoned the earth’s surface and now live in gigantic genetically altered people towers - living organisms that house the city’s population. Houses and apartments that breathe and bleed. They possibly also have consciousness. These are quite likely the most enlightened inhabitants of the city. They may also be the most enslaved and deprived. And down below the podiums of the giant living mannequins, the earth erupts in pus bloated sores. Though through it all the public transport is very good and the No. 23 gets me home. This is done on 120 gsm bond paper in pen, ink, coloured pencil, pastel and markers. It also includes me sticking a Stanley knife (including twisting action) from the underside of the paper and filling the resulting craters with white woodworking glue to create the pus filled sores.
