Architects are the jealous friends of the artist. On the surface some will tell you that they are un-able to comment on the World through their work as the job of the architect is to offer a medium between reality and vision, clarity and fantasy.
As the facilitators of the new and emerging urban for and structure, we are letting ourselves down through our lack of a unified stance on our values through our need to be able to actually make a living and to comment on the Urbanity of society.
We peer toward the lot of the artist (or i do at least) longingly hoping that one day the two bodies can connect deeply making social comment at an urban level that investors are willing to support and pay for!
Public art facilitated within an urban form and use. True art for the users sake.
