Third in a series of five
burn burnt fire forest trees series athex
I’ve heard about the fires in the news; what a sad sight((((
Yes this fortunately was a small area Wy from buildings
Great capture of this terrible and ongoing event !
Thank you Berns
there is a certain beauty in destruction…..sad but nature will recover, fine shots alan
Thank you Terry. That beauty as an outcome of something of destruction and the mixed emotions that it evokes is what moved me to make this series.
Well and beautifully documented. Destruction and aesthetics … what a choice. I was glad to hear that there has been little human or home damage, but such a horror. We live in a land of fire, also, and it willl take years to restore itself.
Thank you it ia all part of the renewal of nature and unfortunately we get in the way sometimes
Cool, I like the central stick left standing. The cool change is just starting to come in (6.19pm Thursday, 43C earlier)
Thanks Ben the chnge is due here around 7am – a hot night ahead
These trees will come back- note the green on top. People think of this as destruction of nature, but in reality it is a natural process that strengthens species, and renews the forest. In a few months it will sprout anew as the rains come, and the animals will return to reclaim their territories. The most important part of this is that the survivors, the strongest of those in the prefire forest, will propogate, slightly modifying the overall species.
Yes it feels almost morally wrong to find beaty in a burnt forest, but if you take that away it was quite striking. Took this inQld whilst on holiday at Christmas.
Great work :)
