..usually nocturnal, this mother and baby possum were setting the cockatoos off screeching one afternoon in the gum trees…I love catching a glimpse of the local nocturnal wildlife (which i usually only hear go bump in the night!!)

    This is so gorgeous a-m :) I had some work done in my roof and the tradesmen found a possum and her baby so I took the manhole cover off in the ceiling in my study and they came down and lived in my study for 2 days. I fed them and then when Ken was home from o/s he managed to open the tall window and they escaped to freedom :)

    Oh goodness…it looks like the baby is clinging on for dear life. Amazing that you saw them up there, and even better that you had your camera and caught them for everyone to see. you sure caught the look of fear good in this shot.

    thanks ginny… well the white cockatoos were screeching SO loud.. i knew SOMETHING was out there that shouldn’t be!!! (and in hindsight i’m glad it wasn’t the green python which later appeared in my neighbours yard!!)

    OMG! It sounds like you live in the jungle. I live with 35 dogs out in the country and they can do some screaching when something doesn’t belong too. lol Hope the little things are still alive.

    Great shot. I have a few living in my shed.
    Frightened my son one night, its tail was hanging down from the roof, after just seeing a snake in our yard. He jumped about 2 foot thinking the snake was back. Hehe

    heh.. well last night i heard a crash in my laundry (which is in the house btw) and so i snuck out there… swung open the door and there was a big fat one… in my sink.. .he froze and i said.. “Get Out!” and he hopped out of the sink…stood up and went thru the dangly bamboo blinds and went on his way!!! the cheeky bugger!
    ..glad you got the giraffes into the group and thanks also for the favs! much appreciated
