For Musbah and Libya by Astrid Strahm

Posted on February 22, 2011

Dear Musbah from Libya

We met more than one Year ago on this plattform. We had some BubbleMail Contact and I found you and your work very sympathic and touching.
At that time, you did not show your Country on your profile. and when I asked you where you come from, your answer was, that I probably would not like your Country… and that it was Libya.

At this time, Switzerland and Libya had some media attention due to diplomatic troubles caused by Dictator Gaddafi and his Son who was arrested in Geneva because he misstreated his housekeeing personal. After that, 2 Swiss were arrested for a long time in Libya and Switzerland had a hard fight to free them.

I told you, Musbah, that people should not be judged by the country they come from, but by the message they send out. I always enjoyed to see your work and tried to understand the good message it sends out.

And now, seeing these ugly pictures from your Country, and knowing that people die, I am in deep trouble if you and your people are okay there…

I pray to God, and actually I am convinced it is the same God for everyone, even if he or she has different names around the world, for you and the citizens of Libya and the whole arabic part of the world to get peace and freedom.

    John Dicandia...

Beautiful and sensitively written Astrid. Like Egypt, the people of Libya should be supported in their quest for freedom and free speech.

I am touched, Astrid. I deeply feel for those fighting freedom with their lives. They are tomorrow’s heroes.
I do not believe in any God or Allah, but I hope the positive spirits will overcome the evil ego’s.

It’s heart-warming to see that not all of the Libyan military are willing to follow orders to bomb civilian protesters:

Brought tears to my eyes – brave men indeed, if this story is correct, as are so many of the common people who are standing up all over the world at the moment…
