Let’s say YOU are God.
In a wrinkle in the fabric
of the sleeve of YOUR shirt, is a speck of dust.
A fleck out of countless others.
On one of the billions of microscopic spheres
orbiting about in this minuscule galaxy,
infinitesimal life forms develop and multiply.
One species of little creatures becomes self-aware.
An event that, for the most part, freaks them out.
They start feuding and killing each other!
They also decide to find God in order to understand
how they and their world, came to be.
They end up with many stories, images, and some crazy rituals.
Gruesome wars are fought over whose tale is the one
worth killing and dying for!
Each faction believes YOU are on their side!
Too bad YOU are not even aware of their existence.
Even if YOU were,
what could YOU possibly do?
Lucky for them, YOU have not put on
that old shirt in a long time.
It hangs in the closet collecting more dust.

AMEN! YOU HAVE STATED A POWERFUL TRUTH THAT 99% OF THE HUMAN RACE STILL HASN’T UNDERSTOOD! WE ARE THE ONLY CREATURES ON THIS PLANET WHO KILL ONE ANOTHER OVER PHILOSOPHICAL AND RELIGIOUS INTERPRETATIONS!! BRAVO LAHAB! SUPERBLY STATED TRUTH!!
Totally absurd, isn’t it??!
Thank YOU very much my friend…

i wish i knew your views apart from this one instance… i may indeed make the effort …
for now …the above … as i understand your message it is twofold the part that deals with the hypocracy and the ‘our god is better than your god’ mentality is agreeable to me and i admire your sentiments … the other part seems to be regarding your personal view of god/God …if the latter is correct then you do not regard him as an all knowing God or an all capable god … so your view would reduce god to the level of all other gods… i am truly interested in your view…and if i am anywhere near to your meaning …thankyou for reading my response [i am a fan of raymondo and saw he faved this ]
Thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt, and wanting to read further before you decide…
The “other part” is that we are truly very small. Our planet, our solar system, and our collective egos, in the vastness that is God! So rather than “reducing” the concept, I am trying, through metaphor, to enlarge it beyond all existing concepts combined.
We ARE part of that whole. We are made of it. At the same same time, there is a “divine nonchalant” at work in the universe where we, and everything else, are lovingly given everything we need to succeed, but are left to our own devices, in order to learn.
In peace~

Whatever you may lack in “academia”, and I do not personally put a whole lot of weight on “credentials”, you make up for with your warmth and openness…

a masterful and thought provoking write on a subject that is delicate to many of us mere beings….and yes we are the only fools on earth that fight over “OUR GOD IS BEST” :)
Delicate indeed… like a newborn baby!
Many thanks…

The absurdity is violence for the sake of violence, violence used to prove a point, violence used as last resort, violence to enforce a belief or violence used as a reaction to someone else… that believes differently. Insightful writing of your soul.
Many thanks…
We are in full agreement here~
