The Perfect Crime

I am an hourglass
without sand

A ticking clock
with no hands

I am a witness
to the perfect crime—

I know the one
who murdered time

Hmmm…I’ll have to think about who murdered time. If I had to answer this minute (hahaha) I’d have to say, I did it! it was me.
clocks have always died on and near me…perhaps this is why?
    awesome poem.

  • Assef Al-Jundi replied 28 days ago

; ) that is a great spontaneous answer!

    many thanks, Kristen~

Perhaps time needed murdering and we are better off with just the now moment, happier when our moments are not measured by sands and hands that tick off our days. In the first place an exceptionally fine poem – its rhythm, its rhyme for me, at least, mimics the very ticking of the clock that you mention as absent now. And secondly, so very thought provoking for so few words! Superbly well done!

the sands of time disappear in a crime
a crime of passion or a crime of rationale
if time disappears we`re just never know
i love your words assef they always spark movement in me

  • Assef Al-Jundi replied 25 days ago

one breakthrough realization is this “movement”, absent time!

    grateful!!
