The word “Love”
is as tired as “God”.
Trivialized.
Stripped down to a mere twitter of itself.
“He loves to fight.”
“She loves to feel miserable.”
Imagine Love…
What does Love have to do
with how we throw that word around?
But Love is still the winner over God.
We can always return to Love.
God is not redeemable!
Love
is not male or female.
Not the old man with the long beard and flowing robe.
Not the Goddess with eight arms.
Not the animal head on a human body.
Love
is the essence of aliveness.
Every language has a word for Love.
Abused as it may be, in spirit
it always means the same thing.
It is the first word the heart speaks.
Every language has word for God.
It never means the same thing.
The ancients believed in multiple gods.
Replacing the many with one
was supposed to be an evolved move,
but which One?
There is God of peace. God of vengeance.
God of eternal damnation.
There are Hindu Gods, a Muslim God, Jewish God.
When was the last time Love went to war against Love?
No one has been able to claim Love to themselves.
One needs never fear Love.
Union with Love is grace.
Separation is choice— One’s own cup!
Love is wise—
Masculine and feminine speaking in one voice.
Love is intense
when we find union.
Love cries
when sadness overwhelms.
Love bleeds
when wounded.
Love wants nothing
but your divine kiss.
Let’s retire God.
Awaken
to Love.

yes. we use the same word when we say ‘I love chocolate cake’, ‘I love my children’ and ‘I love god’. we have trivialised the word love so it has become meaningless. true love needs no object. it is a kind of grace where the space between the lover and loved is revealed as illusion. a beautiful poem my friend – inspired and truthful.
Assef Al-Jundi replied

Loved and lover become one in LOVE!
I am feeling some of that ecstatic air ; )

I am wrestling with the love and God thing myself….God and love is varies and the quicker we can appreciate other people’s views then the better off we will be as a world..I think often times we want to force others to believe and see what we see..feel the love the same way..view God the same way…love this piece very much.
Assef Al-Jundi replied
as long as we look for what unifies/connects us, not what divides us… the rest is just words!
thank you for sharing your thoughts…

So you have seen this love that you speak of?
.
It would appear that you have, well done.
Assef Al-Jundi replied
In the poem “Where Great Lions Love To Piss”, the great Sufi poet Hafiz wrote:
“Listen:
Love reveals man is so endowed
To “lift his leg”
Upon galaxies.”

Assef Al-Jundi replied
“Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love posses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.”

i am a complete atheist and i think love is possibly an illusion
your words are inspiring and full of wisdom
but in a blase disspassoinate world full of trivia
such beautifull sentiments as yours are definately needed
great thoughts great words and i think i love them
how paradoxical is that
Assef Al-Jundi replied
Being an atheist is a good starting point for anyone who wants to shed, or not be tied down by, all the dogma and ritualistic beliefs of the world. To be free to explore for themselves if there is meaning to life itself, or if we, and the rest universe with us, are nothing but the byproducts of an accidental chemical spill! (There remains the question of where all those chemicals came from?)
I hope you are that kind of atheist… Keep your mind and heart open. Beauty, art, music, love, imagination, and your own dreams deserve that…
many thanks~

Trouble happens when ‘love’ is used in God’s name
but without awareness of God’s meaning of love
which is patient kind accepting forgiving unselfish etc.
The ego therefore takes over and love becomes need;
and if the ego driven needs don’t meet expectation,
blaming occurs and the destruction begins.
Marie’s comment ’ actions speak louder than words ‘
is of my heart too.
Lovely to read your work, peace
Assef Al-Jundi replied
and Love-ly of you to share your thoughts… Yes, I agree with you that “ego” has much to do the troubles of our world…
In peace~

As obvious as it seems I’ve never heard it put quite the way you put it here, love and god I mean. Brilliant peace :)
Assef Al-Jundi replied
perhaps that is at least part of what a poet is supposed to do; take the obvious and put it in a way that gets it noticed?!
thankful~

If we were to cease worrying about what others think of God, how they worship and what their philosophies are, and focus on a universal (unadulterated) love – how much would our world change? Great write.
Assef Al-Jundi replied
my thoughts exactly!
grateful~
Erika .
Oh yes indeed. Love is so overused you forget what it truly means….the beauty of it is dullled and we abuse the word.
_One needs never fear Love.-..so so true. Love is “god”...Love is everything.
And I love this piece ;D
Assef Al-Jundi replied
I can feel your enthusiasm, and it makes smile (wide grin!)... I LOVE it!
many thanks~

The essence of it all…sometimes lost in the picture. x
Assef Al-Jundi
...especially when we are in the picture!
Many thanks~
Erika .
Oh believe me…when I read stuff like this. When the Truth is written and spoken and admitted openly I am beyond enthusiastic..I amecsatic ;D
Erika .
I meant ecstatic....sorry got carried away there ;)
Assef Al-Jundi replied
we all get “carried away” sometimes (I left a “me” out of my first reply- “makes me smile”), but then when the subject is something we are enthusiastic about, what an uplifting image it is to be “carried away” by good/ecstatic feelings…
Cheers~
