Shores

Shores

Seagulls surely love this salty sea
Just as eagles must love
Endless sky

This southern breeze
Gentle roar of the waves
Is how my spirit feels
Earth giving
Its love

And I—
What am I without this sand
Under my toes
This mist filling my lungs
This lover I see
Everywhere
I look…

..this is a beautiful poem …. capturing the existential in essence ….. I come from a landlocked country and now I live on the coast and getting to love this place took some time …. I think if we are new somewhere and then get to know the new place and learn to love it / trust it – our existential experience becomes intensified somehow …....

thank you for such sensitive, and beautifully expressed insights…

to my mind, loving the sea, and loving a “new place”, are two different things. I may be in a new place, and have no idea whether I could love it/trust it or not, but if I happen to be standing on a shore there, my love for the sea takes over, and my heart takes flight…

May all your existential experiences be intensified and enlightening…
