There was a time
when a flower had power
When we believed we lived
in the age of peace
There was a time
when the insanity of war no longer
made sense and awakening
was the new hymn
There was a time
when love was more than a silly love song
Pot of gold and rainbow
were in our hearts
There is a time
where flowers still hold power
War remains insane
and lovers’ ghosts
dance…

Well done Assef!
Benazir deserves in terms of her personality – her charisma…. her sheer political acumen in the face of so many odds. That she eventually become victim to bullets that were intended only for her elimination. She was an enigma alright and will guide many into the future.

i really appreciate what you propose here, writing like this can change people’s views. i agree with every word… especially about war being insane. the only thing sadder than war is the way governments and media use it to control people and keep them living in fear of life and each other. such a beautiful dedication…

The only way out of that fear you describe, is for people to “awaken” and take control of their own lives (away from governments’ and media’s), one at a time !
