Greetings,
Other than posting my poetry online, and publishing in anthologies and literary journals, I am yet to publish a chapbook or a full volume of poetry (Except for a book of poetry titled “A Long way” that I self-published years ago. A learning experience I look back on very fondly.)
Today I can say, with a big smile, that I have taken the next big step!

In These latitudes, Ten Contemporary Poets , Edited by Robert Bonazzi, has just been published by Wings Press in San Antonio, Texas.
A handsomely designed book, inside and out, with cover art (“Lighthouse”) by talented artist Andrea Belag.
(Please click on the book title, in blue above, to go directly to the Amazon.com page for additional information on price, etc. Thanks)
The book prominently features my poetry, alongside the works of nine accomplished poets (Nancy Kenney Connolly, Del Marie Rogers, Tony Zurlo, Wong Siu-Yung, H.C. Nash, Marian Haddad, Laura Quinn Guidry, Dillon McKinsey, and John Herndon).
Delighted to be in their company.
My section of 24 pages (20 poems) is long enough to be a stand-alone chapbook. Most of the poems have never been published, or posted online, before.
Acclaimed poet Naomi Shihab Nye wrote:
“Robert Bonazzi has done a masterful job editing In These latitudes, which represents ten worthy, wonderful voices in a series of nourishing poems. Thanks to the generous amount of space given each writer, there is a chance to “enter in” to aesthetics, styles and concerns.
A sense of gracious timelessness, and caring detail pervades the entire text. Prepare to make ten new friends, or spend meaningful time with essential voices you have previously enjoyed.”
- Editor Robert Bonazzi is the author of numerous books and is the poetry columnist for the San Antonio Express-News. His most recent book is Maestro of Solitude: Poems and Poetics.
For the most part, I normally feel very uncomfortable “tooting my own horn”, or doing what I consider “promoting” or “hustling” for my work.
That being said, I am still thrilled about “In These Latitudes”. This is also my chance to humbly thank the many friends, and dear mentors, who believed in me, supported and encouraged my work. I owe each one of you a huge debt of gratitude. I feel that this is for you as much as it is for me.
Much love,
Assef

Beautiful cover design…and “toot” all you like – this is a
wonderful and fulfilling achievement!
Lahab Assef Al...:
Yes, I love that cover… like looking through dimensions, or horizons… and she has all “the basic elements” covered with her colors!
I don’t know if I’ll ever get comfortable with the “tooting” part ; ) but I truly appreciate your supportive words… Thanks!

Congratulations, Assef! I’m so happy for you! That’s a beautiful, contemporary cover, too.
Please let us know about it and where (and how much) we can buy a copy!

Happy you asked, because the info is in the message, but I did not make it clear enough (will edit soon).
The link under the cover photo (in blue) takes you directly to Amazon.com (the book is also available through many other outlets and bookstores like Barnes & Noble).
The Amazon.com price is $10.88. What a deal?! ; )
Cheers~

it is believed that the eyes are the windows of the soul…but now i know words can be too.
your work is simply amazing…wonder-full. somehow i felt like they were little stories from your heart.
Lahab Assef Al...:
Angela, you honor me with your wonderful compliments…
Yes, in some other world looking through the window of the soul may be enough, but in this one, language is our way in to feel, touch, and love!
Grateful~
