Over Blue Mountain

Some time in the morning
The sun wakes discretely
From the edge of the earth
In uprising and sweetly
Contends with the dark
Which disperses completely
To start the new day
On blue mountain

The hill and the sky
In my eyes wake together
The ferns and the grasses
The bushes the heather
Waving and waiting
And wondering whether
The day will be fine
On blue mountain

The cry’s in the night
That were dark and deceiving
That pitied and preyed
As we lay in our breathing
Were the devil in pain
As he groaned in his grieving
He can’t have his way
On blue mountain

I imagine the world
Has some great intention
Some miracle plan
Of its own huge invention
I imagine some things
That I’m too proud to mention
As I make my way
Over blue mountain

(this wonderful poem was not written by me but a very special friend Harry s. who has now sadly gone over blue mountain}
