I am so touched by your photograph of Buddy. As an animal activist who rescues dogs who have been abused or neglected, your story brought tears to my eyes. It is so hard to tolerate the cruelty that humans perpetrate on our devoted best friends. I posted a photograph of Mikey, my English Setter who was a therapy dog working at Children’s hospital on the oncology ward entitled Dr. Mikey, Therapy Dog. You might want to read a touching story, only one of many examples of how dogs help us during our lifetime. Your photograph is stunning capturing the beauty of his eyes, the mirror to his soul. I have great respect for you Terri for your loving care of this beautiful and sentient animal. You will be rewarded by his love and devotion since it seems to me that the pairing of the two of you was meant to be. Jung refers to it as synchronicity;in other words this was not an accident since you both belong together enriching each others lives. As you said you both are loved unconditionally, a gift to both of you that many never experience without knowing the depth of love that animal companions give to humans adding a dimension to our lives that words cannot describe. Now I can go and get some kleenex!!

He is beautiful. So happy for him that found you. We got our dog from the Animal Rescue Foundation. We love her so much. I can relate.

grrrrr things like that bring the DEMONS out in me I just can’t stomach people like that I would LOVE to give them a good dose of their own Nast tratment… BASTARDS.

He is truly a beautiful little soul. I cannot understand how humans can be so cruel. You have a friend for life there. Love and light will always shine upon you guys….this to me is perfect love.

I am sitting here crying like a big baby! This is such a touching story! Buddy is so very lucky to have found you! MEAN PEOPLE SUCK! Kinda reminds me of my Opal!
I was looking for a new dog about 6 years ago, I wanted a whippet. I had just lost my best friend “Struck” a rescued greyhound. I called every rescue group for miles around, one day a women called to say she had too many dogs and had a whippet if I was intrested. She lived 4 hours away, I said would meet her 1/2 way, but she said she would bring her to me. When she arrived I was soo shocked! My lovely Opal had almost all of her face ripped open by another dog! She hadn’t taken her to the vet, saying oh it will heal! I agreed to take her on the spot! when she was leaving she said if you don’t want her let me know and I will come back for her. Like Hell! would she every get her hands on that dog again! Many years later you can still see the scars, but to me she is the most beautiful dog in the world! And the most grateful one! If only I could pick her out of my butt! LOL! She is with me every minute of the day!
Lucky Buddy and Lucky You! Keep up the wonderful job you do with animals! They will give back your love ten folds! sorry about the spelling, hard to see through my tears! Again MEAN PEOPLE SUCK!

oh Terri ~ this touches me deeply ~ I knew you had a huge heart & now I have a better sense of its depths of kindness even more…how lucky is Buddy to have you…no words can say…its in his eyes tho and they go straight to my heart….I have 3 cats all once strays and adopted from the shelter we support…my first, George, was 9 months old and don’t know his story but he had a hard life and needed more nurturing of spirit than body…spent alot of time getting him to trust and now he’s the light in our lives and a father/mother to the bro and sister we adopted a couple of yrs later…he’s really blossomed as a “parent” and is even more affectionate than before…like we humans tend to too :) thank you for sharing this story…xxx

omg…...yes ,I pick them up….they show up…..I take them in.I have to stop now ,where I am now cause of my mom…92 and I care for her and she is wheelchair bound and they all are so spoiled and possessive(that includes my mom).( -;
Buddy reminds me of my Mr.Peabody…...and there is NOTHING like their love…i have finches (on their last perch)6 cats17 yrs old to one we took in this summer…some ferrel that come and go(5)and 3dogs taken in at different times over the last 3 yrs.
I love it, you were so good to do that for him,
I know you dont need my thanks,but,thanks for sharing at least, I dont feel so crazy knowing someone else is out there doing it…my family tolerates my interest,but dont understand…yadayada
