Windy and rainy on that day
as the driver started out.
He job was to deliever dogs and pupies
From California to Washington and futher out
These dogs were special in every way..
They help the blind to stay aray
He and the other person load the animals up
And headed on out.
Three hundred miles and four hours away
A speeding car broaded side them
sending the bus spining across the lanes.
The driver keep it upright in every way he can.
it hauled near the last lane, smoking as the engine still ran
A friend of Guide Dogs stop to call for help.
as he enter the bus
He saw dogs and puppies that need to get out
the police wanted him off the bus ,
before i caught on fire
He refused the policemen with all he had
Started to unload the dogs and puppies
the policemen helped him as fast as they could go
unload all those animals
and loaded them to a farm truck standing near by
they were driven to a farm
in a truck that hauled hogs
later picked up that day
they were driven back to guide dogs.
The driver was sent to hospital
broken bones he had
they had to flew him to Davis.
as he glech his teeth in pain
Not all the dogs survived that wrack
as you may well know
A retired guide dog name Corvette
going back to his raisers to live
the news hit them
as the call was made.
Their dog gone forever.
will always be a dismay
Cards were sent.
That day at work sadden we were.
to hear of the death of Corvette.
A beautiful dog we’ll never forget
The driver will recover
many months it ’ll take
prayers will aways be with him
as he returns to work some day.
