This is a photograph of a young girl from Ramallah, West Bank. She was capitvating and magnetic, so full of her own heavy thoughts. I wondered what colours and images were clouding in her mind and how growing up in conflict would shape her fledgling consciousness.

Fantastic portrait. The pose and the expression say it all. I believe that each viewer may see something in it, that connects with their own children or experiences. It is a very evocative and emotive portrait, and is well captured. A fantastic addition to the Art of the Middle East group.
