Artist's Description

Jallianwala Bagh is a garden inside the city of Amritsar in North India that is situated right next to the Golden Temple. In 1919, during the fight for Indian independence from the British, a mass of unarmed demonstrators shouting slogans were fired upon by British forces lead by General Dyer, wounding or killing more than 1500 people. This was a horrible massacre that shocked the country.
