“The ocean is but a larger lake. At midsummer you may sometimes see a strip of glassy smoothness on it, a few rods in width and many miles long, as if the surface were covered with a thin pellicle of oil, just as on a country pond…. "
Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862), U.S. philosopher, author, naturalist. Cape Cod (1855-1865), in The Writings of Henry David Thoreau

Solar Pond, was highlighted as a Featured Work of Art on the RedBubble homepage on February 23, 2010.

Solar Pond was also selected as a Featured Work by the group Theme Thursday, Feature Friday in September 2010 for the Shades of Orange series.

Photographic abstract taken of an antique amber glass bottle found in an abandoned building over 150 years old. The bottle is sitting on a window sill with the sunlight “glowing” though it. It caught my attention, so I tried to capture a macro of the bottle and the light.

Evoking emotions with her photographic interpretations of everyday objects is why JD Brummer’s abstract artistry has been exhibited in prestigious Art Galleries, juried Shows, winning Awards, & published in International Magazines, as well as Photographer’s Forum’s Annual Collection of The Best of Photography 2010 & 2011. Feel inspired & intellectually challenged while experiencing a whole new enigmatic world of beauty through JD Brummer’s As Eye See Photography

Very cool find – it looks like it’s glowing!

  • LOL…. it looks that way, because it sort of is. I haven’t had time to write the description yet, but this is a macro of an antique amber glass bottle found in an abandoned building over 150 years old. The bottle is sitting on a window sill with the sunlight “glowing” though it. It caught my attention, so I tried to capture a macro of the bottle and the light. In post-prod., I rotated the shot 90 degrees CCW.
