“The light by which we see in this world comes out from the soul of the observer. Wherever any noble sentiment dwelt, it made the faces and houses around to shine. Nay, the powers of this busy brain are miraculous and illimitable.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882), U.S. essayist, poet, philosopher. “Success,” Society and Solitude (1870).
Kathie translated from my macro photographic image, Shine Down for the Sojie12 Workshop and Exhibit. Her painting is the transformation of my photograph into her interpretation of an illusion of the waterfall in Yosemite Park, California, USA with the rays of light at sunset reflecting in the water giving the appearance of the water being fire.
As I told Kathie when she offered to paint Shine Down, I was silly with excitement. After all, she is one of my original RB inspirations from more than 2 years ago. It was her Abstract Macro Photographs that ignited a new, creative passion within me. And look where we are today! I couldn’t be more honored!!
F.A. Moore replied:
“Absolutely great that you have come full circle with Kathie, your inspiration for your current track of Macro Photography, to where she is now inspired by YOU to paint!!! What a great story!”
