I didn’t explain this when I first posted. It is a self portrait, of a battle I once fought.

After the honor of having this posted on Home Page today, someone read my journal “About Me and My Art”. It was helpful to them.

I decided to add the link for anyone who wants to read more about my experiences with this. The link for my journal is here

Since posting this painting I also had the honor to be asked by a talented writer, Ian Osborne, to add this with his written piece called “The C-Word” which is found here

It also represents a good C word, collaboration!

Awesome work, reminds me my sister when she was undergoing her countless chemos. I hope you will never have to deal with it again. God bless. Lana

  • Thank you so much Lana. Yes, it is a self portrait. One of the emotional and physical stages of fighting all that cancer represents.

Amazing work, artymelanie. Expressive and impressive at the same time. And I can see your strength and vulnerability in this portrait. Hope you are in good health again! Lots of warmest smiles to your corner of the world – Lila

  • I am honored you added this to your favorites.

Yes, I once held a report in my hands that said I was not likely to live any longer than two more years, at most. I have LONG past that “expiration date” ~ as I refered to it.

My treatment ended many years ago now.

Thank you for your well wishes, and nice to meet you. I will return a visit to you soon.
