Christmas ~ As Ever, Gone In A Flash! by

As the tree sinks slowly into the west…. We spent Christmas Day at the home of a very good friend an hour’s drive from here. There were four of us & a small but energetic dog. And Santa had definitely been there (he always finds us… left stuff at our house AND at the friend’s). For the first time in many years, our friend put up a Real Tree (some kind of fir from North Carolina!), albeit a tiny one ~ about 3 feet tall (at most), & it was a treat. I took several pictures of it, then decided to crop one of them down & edit it furiously, to get this interesting effect.

Our own tree at home is flourishing, still sucking up water after 3 weeks, & it will stay up at least until Twelfth Night. So, while Christmas may appear to be Gone In A Flash, it still lives on.

Happy New Year, all!

Hooray for lovely vibrant festive bling, and I’m glad to hear Santa found you Sheila! :D

  • Thanks, Georgie. We are still basking in the glow of our own tree ~ always drag it out as long as possible!

I like what you have done! Nice effect!

  • Glad you like this one, Angie; I had lots of fun playing with it. And thanks for the fave. Our tree is STILL up, but its water consumption has dropped substantially… think its days are numbered!

Great detail, Sheila – love the Christmas colourings….didn’t have the heart to dispose of our tree so put it into the garden where it is still flourishing (despite being rootless)

  • Sally kept this little one around for quite a while, but it has disappeared now, she says. Ours is still out back, tied to a Norway maple, providing bird & squirrel cover, but it is rapidly losing its needles & will eventually be cut up. Thanks for the comment, Mattie!
