The Moorside Cats at the Cat Pottery in West Burton, Wensleydale, Yorkshire, may look sleek & real & ready for catty behavior, but they are, in fact, works of art. Now it may be argued that ALL cats are works of art (depends on whether you love felines or not), but in this case, the artisan’s hand has molded them adroitly, & they are close-to-perfect representations. These kitties perch above the viewer’s head over the entrance to the enchanting world of meow & hiss that is the Cat Pottery, a place filled with the miniature to the life-sized. It should also be noted that the occasional pig sneaks into the mix.
West Burton is a charming place (& I do not use that adjective unless I
REALLY mean it), a notable destination within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is in the still pristine Walden Valley, & it is home to the fine little Cauldron Falls, which is oft-photographed by RedBubblers.
