At last! Something resembling Real Winter in Hamburg, NY. We have had a few meager snowfalls since January 1st, hardly any of the lake effect snow (off Lake Erie, which has not frozen over this year) that we’re accustomed to. None has brought this icing on the cake, so to speak. Mind you, this is not a lot of snow ~ not much more than an inch. But being of the wet, heavy variety, it makes its point & makes it stick. It’s around freezing at the moment, but temps will rise, as will the breeze, as the day goes on, & this magnificence will disappear. But for now, we, the snow-deprived, revel. And the squirrels are going (dare I say it? nuts.
Like Vickie Emms’s masterful snowscape, mine is actually a color photo, not b & w.
