The sun played games with us as we drove along the A816 near Barrananaoil, north of Kilmartin in Argyll. The result was quite spectacular & ever-changing. It is not possible to say ‘Scotland at its Best’… too many places, too many views are strong contenders for that honour.

Such vividly awesome fall colors. Truly awesome and a 10+ in my book.

  • Hey Auntie Barbie!! Thanks for this generous appraisal. And I definitely like your goals in life. I was laughing as I took this picture! ~ Sheila

Wonderful shot Sheila, lovely light and colours on those fell tops. Like the lead in with the fence as well.

  • Thanks, Gary. One magical spot out of many, I guess. I am always astounded by this light!

Love the colours you have captured here Sheila …

  • It was a brilliant spot with an in & out westering sun. The view dead ahead on the road was dark & gloomy, but it too improved as we approached!

That’s lovely Sheila – you could still be in Cumbria !
  • Thanks, Roy – but don’t let the Argyll faction hear you say that!

A beauty, Sheila! Marvellous scene, lovely capture! Now, if you take away the fence, put water where the grass is, and add the odd laker, you’ve almost got my view of the Adirondacks. Not as nice as this, though.

  • I actually have a brief bit of video taken from Via Rail as we headed back to Toronto from Montreal. The Racks don’t show up too well, but we weren’t far from Cornwall when I took that mooooving picture. BTW – I’ll be under the radar again for a few days… big doings with Thanksgiving on the way. Thanks, Mike.
