A short bio, eh? I am Sheila, & I am short.
It is a beautiful bridge …
Thanks, Tom. And such a nice town; an engineering marvel in a gem of a setting!
amazinin bit o work is it no ..an the bridge is no bad anaw!
Heh, heh. Appreciate that, Joak, my man! Wish I could say I built it with my Meccano set (see below)…. Thanks.
What a beautiful bridge, Sheila! Incredible ironwork! Great capture of the intricate architectural detail!
Thanks, Gene. The original color shot of this view looks nice, I think, but the conversion brought out the brightness of the foremost ironwork. It is actually painted a brighter gray than the other parts, so you get this effect, in varying degrees, depending on the amount of light & the time of day.
Thats a good shot of an icon of victorian engineering!
Thank you, Dog – icon indeed. I first got interested in Ironbridge (the town & the metalwork) when I bought a Merrythought bear here in Buffalo years ago. Part of the proceeds from the sale was going across the pond to Salop to help in the upkeep/restoration of the bridge. A little research told me that the town was a destination.
I love this. It looks like it was made with a mechano set.
I saw your comment last night just before I turned in… I thought, he’s So Right! Now I see Tower Bridge meccanized. GREAT STUFF, Brock!! I love it. Cheers!! And thanks.
Beautiful bridge, great shot Sheila!!
Thanks, Marvin. Good to see you back at the keyboard!!
Beauty, Sheila! What a grand bridge!
Yo, Mike. It is a doozey, Meccano or no. Thanks for that.
