Artist's Description

On a pleasant Spring day, a fine little curtain of golden catkins dangles along the Onondaga Trail at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge in Alabama, Orleans County, NY. I’m not sure what they are, exactly, but I suspect they were part of a Hornbeam’s wardrobe. This is an excellent trail throughout the warmer seasons; an easy walk on slightly elevated berm through swamp to a slight climb through woods full of birds, butterflies & wildflowers.
