The surf pounds in after a couple of rough days in November. Fortunately these were followed by brilliant sun & crystal clarity ~ a perfect setting for a New England Thanksgiving celebration. Cape Ann, near Gloucester, Massachusetts.

A lovely sea view Sheila and a great sky …
Thanks, Tom – & the sound was magnificent, too! In fact, I did take a brief video….
What a beautiful seascape! Lovely work, Sheila.
My home from home – have only missed one year in the last 46. Thanks, Mike.
Fantastic seascape, Sheila! You captured the breaking surf and that moody cloud-filled sky beautifully! I can almost smell that salty air!
Thank you, Gene… it was SO clear that day, & being in late November, you’d have expected very chilly temperatures, especially with the seabreeze. But it was actually quite comfortable standing there. Wish I were standing there now… always wish I were standing there!
fantastic image, so fresh and inviting, just gorgeous
Many thanks for that! Fresh is the word.
Wonderful shot Sheila, great foreground and wonderful details in that lovely sky. It looked a lovely day when you took this. Really great shot.
Thanks, Gary. That one just turned up as I was looking through the SheilaArchives…. Couldn’t believe I’d neglected it.
Ah, the Pond from the other side. Super seascape, Sheila.
Thank you, Steven – any way you look at it, it’s one awe-inspiring water feature….
Beautiful! I can almost feel the spray!
Thanks, Lee-Anne… I can transport myself there in my mind in a second; takes about 8 hours by car….
Many thanks, Julie!
beautiful! just enough blue in the sky ‘to patch a sailors trousers’ as my mum used to say…excellent!
Thanks, James – yours (your mum’s) is an interesting variant on my great grandmother’s, & thus my grandmother’s AND mother’s (& now my) version of this adage ~ ‘enough blue sky to make a Dutchman’s britches….’ There was more than enough on that clear day. My sister-in-law was with me at that moment, & she captured the scene in a watercolor that can be seen here .
nice shot Sheila
Thank you, Dave.
