The twin spires of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Albany, NY, against the backdrop of orange sky & distant Catskill Mountains. The church opened in 1852, but the two towers came later ~ the north (closer) in 1862, & the south in 1888. The clock whose face can be seen in the north tower was made in 1801, & was originally in use in the First Church Albany Reformed.
Wonderful stuff, Sheila. Great shot under trying conditions.
Thanks! You have no idea, Steve. This was taken from our room on the eleventh floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, a pricey joint in a sensational location. The big plate glass windows didn’t open, so you couldn’t really get a fresh-air shot of anything. And the big plate glass windows were Very Dirty…. However ~ there were two sets of dirty panes, & the inside one was a slider. So, I was able to cut the dirt quotient in half. I was AMAZED at how well all the through-the-window shots came out – this one had to be caught at an oblique angle as it was way over to the left. Trying conditions indeed.

Beautiful capture, and interesting history!
Thanks, Arlane. We could see several churches (& other fascinating buildings) from our hotel.

Many thanks, Jase. Not a lot of great weather on the trip, but this sunset cooperated nicely.

Great silhouette!!!
Thank you, Chazz. None of the others I took showed the clock to advantage; I thought it added something to the silhouettes!
