Taken on my 56th birthday in 2003. A fine present.

WOW a breathtaking shot..truly beautiful!
Thanks – not sure you ever got my reply; if not, I appreciate the positive feedback!
wow mate, bloody lovely shot, looks ace
Thanks to you. I just ordered a couple of your shots as cards…Zowie.
Thanks, Gordon. One of my favorite shots – didn’t really take any time setting it up, but there you are.
Now I’m jealous, I’ve been here 5 times and never seen the sun, well once a brief glimpse. That’s a cracking shot of the gorge.
Thanks – I just realized I had the wrong year on this & changed it; not incipient senility (quite), but an honest slip of the finger. This was my first post on RB; I’ve always loved it. Your Sunny Day (but isn’t Glen Coe supposed to be dour & dark?) will come.
As you know I do like this pic, is that a layby up to the left? if its the one I think it is there always used to be a raggedy tinker piper in full tarten and then some, playing for tourists, nowhere there is clever to stop, bet he was the cause of the odd prang. We too have seen the sun!! there should be a car sticker!!
Yo, Painterperson – yes, there’s a layby barely visible. That tinker piper fellow wasn’t there, but funnily, when Ray went up the hill (which hill?) a little later, he came down from one direction, & directly opposite him, on the next-over slope, was a raggedy guy in a kilt. Just a guy. It was an odd tableau. Thanks for the comment, och & aye. You need to post some stuff.
We visited Glen Coe back in June, missed this view though. Obviously we need to go back.Fine shot!!
Many thanks, Robin. BTW – I love your icon pic… try to stay calm; you WILL get back to Glen Coe one day.
breath taking, love the depth of the image and the sun hiting the distant hills is lovely. : )
Thank you – sun in Glen Coe seems to be at a premium, but we had a lot of sun on this whole trip.
See you have some views to make up for the lack of North Yorkshire ;)
Ha & ha… Oh, I’ve been everywhere, boy, I’ve been everywhere… More often to Scotland than to Yorks., but there are a couple of those in my gallery, & some others I should add.
AND, thanks for the fave!
Great capture artwhiz47, lovely tones and wonderful depth to the image
Many thanks, Norman – this was the very first photo I posted on RB; have just re-upped it in a larger format. Glad to see it’s finding a new audience!
