The excellent & well-equipped barge Fingal carried a variety of craft for the use & enjoyment of its passengers… from this exquisite 16-foot sailboat to canoes, & one-man sailboats (Ray dumped one of these into Loch Ness, but the less said about that the better), along with mountain bikes. So here we have one of those brilliant Scottish days, one perfect day for a sail. The barge was moored at the pier at Foyers, & Captain Martin Balcombe took Ray & friend Nan Owen Rose out for some smaller-craft navigation.
Here’s a link that will take you to a shot of Fingal approaching Fort Augustus. Ray & I had opted to hike the towpath, & Fingal breezed by us without stopping, bigod.
Such a trip.
