Lifes A Beach for Red Capped Plovers at Wallaroo SOLD
EXHIBITION: AUG 8TH 9TH SALA FESTIVAL ’”SEASIDE ART EXPOSED” Marina Hotel Complex – each panel 120×90 cm oil on canvas TRYTPICH
These plucky little birds which when they fly seem almost like white light dash back to the sand dunes where they nest but when it comes time for their little chicks to feed they must walk them to the waters edge. To do this on Wallaroo Beach the little balls of fluff have to battle the odds of being squashed by cars or eaten by dogs cats foxes etc. As I waded in the water trying to capture a photo of these beautiful birds I really appreciated how fragile their existence was and how vulnerabe their species is as their habitat is invaded. Many of the various Plovers numbers are dropping some are already an endangered species I hope we can treasure and support these treasures by giving them some space just to be.
