I am very proud of this picture because it evidences much growth in my drawing ability,but I do wonder when will I learn how to shade properly?

hey that’s excellent! did you base the muscly arms on mine ; )
and the shading is looking good – particularly on the front shoe….very nice perspective and depth too.
i’m loving the pencil lately…forgotten how much fun it is….shall post my latest pencil opus later today….a gorilla face…..bit of a self portrait ; )

I’ve never really liked seriously drawing..I got bored with all the fiddly details and realism is so NOT my forte,but last year at Tafe using all the different mediums,and a vast improvement in life drawing has really made drawing much more appealing now.Though I have missed painting..I am very much an expressionist painter..big and energetic..and I miss moving colour around a surface like that..it’s just too bloody hot to be that energetic and messy!etc etc ..:-D

I like how I can see depth and how her foot is coming out of the page. I love the clean look too, like no background, it works really well for her. She is cute, even if she is frustrated :) .........She also has the same shoes as Minnie Mouse :P….......sorry I couldn’t help myself… :D xoxo

ah but bell, mistress of the pen, needs not the ability to illustrate with pictures, because the power to ignite every little spark of the senses, emotions and imagination with the written word does that equally, and sometimes more powerfully, than any squiggle could :-)
