Coy (Red Torch Ginger) by

  • Amidst tall green ginger stalks
    And lush canopy foliage surrounds
A large exotic torch ginger flower
    Nestles coyly
    Saturated red pink
Multiple finger-long and waxy tongue-like curled petals
    Finely outlined white-tipped edgings defined
    Caressed by
    Lingering rain droplets
    Glistening in the dawn’s sunlight
    Clinging
    …..

About Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch

My creative art practice may be be succinctly summed up in the following fantastic metaphorical quote by Kandinsky:

“Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key then another to cause vibration of the soul.”

Such lush reds and greens…..they just yell tropics! Beaut shot!

  • Yeh, you got that right. Was pretty much the end of our joyous sunny morning weather since this shot was taken too.
Thanks a lot for commenting Mel.
