Scorcher On the Rise ~ Johnstone River, Innisfail, Queensland by

December 14th tropical sunrise and what was to be another scorcher of a day before a cool change (electrical thunderstorm) finally came later that evening. View taken from the Innisfail Wharf, over looking the Johnstone River, Innisfail, Far North Queensland, Australia.

The sun was actually a peachy red but my camera and with only a standard lens doesn’t pick up the colour, such is the intensity of the sun’s light even with the diffusing cloud cover on the horizon. There is a hint of it’s colour in the water reflections. Best viewed large. 8 )

About Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch

My creative art practice may be be succinctly summed up in the following fantastic metaphorical quote by Kandinsky:

“Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key then another to cause vibration of the soul.”
