Early morning 6.14am December 10, just after sunrise, clusters of tiny pink buds of a variegated leaved Cordyline terminalis, had commenced flowering. The plant grows in my tropical home garden near Innisfail, Far North Queensland, Australia.

My “creative art practice” may be be succinctly summed up in the following fantastic metaphorical quote by Kandinsky:
~ “Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key then another to cause vibration of the soul.”

    Awesome capture and bloom Kerryn.

  • Thanks Julie. Was lucky to have captured this in its prime as the weather had been building up and up in unbearable heat and humidity, the climax to our wet season. Tropical flowers have been bursting out everywhere. We got our first big electrical storm/rain downpour that evening too, refreshing everything.
