The Giant White Bat Flower ~ Tacca Integrifolia.
I finally got to see first hand, along with my southern visitors, this most unusual exotic flowering plant at the Flecker Botanic Gardens, Edge Hill, Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia.

SOME INFO. ABOUT
- Family: Taccaceae Native origin: India.
The true flowers (below dorsals, centre) are like thick purple buttons and the huge whiskers hang from the flowers to about 600mm below.
- Variations: the bracts are purple or pure white and the whiskers white or purple. The Giant Bat Plant has big broad broad glossy leaves 350mm across and 750mm long.
