+ Component drawing No.5 of the assembled original artwork A Potter’s Garden

Exhibited in ‘Cooperate, Collaborate’, Cairns Regional Gallery.

+ A group exhibition, artists had to work in someway with or reflect something about another participating artist.

+ For this work I chose to reflect on my potter artist friend’s country garden in Kuranda, Far North Queensland, Australia, and how she places her ‘lesser quality’, faulty or something gone wrong pots for display around in her tropical garden.
(Recently, for two years running, her garden was chosen for the national one-day-a-year Open Public Garden Display.)

My “creative art practice” may be be succinctly summed up in the following fantastic metaphorical quote by Kandinsky:
~ “Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key then another to cause vibration of the soul.”

This kind of sketch impresses me an awful lot; as I’m not very good at drawing garden foliage. I’m afraid, that I just don’t have an awful lot of patience when it comes to attempting to get involved with drawing loads of detail. BRILLIANT work(s)! ;-)
