My “creative art practice” may be be succinctly summed up in the following fantastic metaphorical quote by Kandinsky:
~ “Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key then another to cause vibration of the soul.”

“If I could keep time in a bottle…”
Somehow I imagined these to be huge acrylic cylinders!
Complex simplicity or maybe how I feel sometimes.

  • Belatedly … Thanks mmargot. Yes indeed-ee, very ‘complex’ simplicity. And wouldn’t that be nice … if they were turned into a huge public art piece. Now dreaming on … 8 ) …
I had envisaged some large painted canvas panel groups to accompany the artist books and containers for the group exhibition but this didn’t eventuate given the very short time frame we had to work within!

such a cool idea! they look so interesting in the jars!!

  • Thanks Marion. Served the exhibition concept really well, with bonuses of preservation and alternate permanent manageable visual display instead of being hidden away inside a 3D made box on a shelf somewhere.

    Wow ~

This would look so cool here

  • Hi Agen. Glad you are the host now managing The Book Group and changed the rules back again to include book art (‘artist book’ ?) content.

    – Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch

  • I was very sad 8 ( and disappointed when the rules, not that long ago, became only for those books commercially printed/published elsewhere. It really disassociated itself to the purpose of being on the RB ‘print’ site for promotion and sales ability and hence ‘died’ for lack of activity.

    – Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch

  • That being said I’d be very honoured to resubmit my work back into the group.
    My best regards, Kerryn.

Brillent, looking forward to seeing your work and all the other book art and images back into the the Book Group. This was a group I should have never given up… but back now, so do spread the word … its under new /old management .. so upset when I watched the group falling apart .. it will take time to rebuild, even better this time .!!
