Intimate Encounter - Down the Fence Line by

I was walking briskly along outside, on my way to the loo which is around the back of the buildings where I work in my retail business, Innisfail, Far North Queensland, when all of a sudden I involuntarily flung the keys held in my right hand out of my grasp. I’d felt such a sharp instant piercing pain on my third finger. I didn’t know what had stung me as looking around there was nothing immediately visible. I rushed off to get some cream from the chemist across the street, to help minimize the swelling & pain.

Later I returned to the area to try and unfathom the mystery. Further down the fence line, about 3 meters along, I discovered, going unnoticed, these territorial Paper Wasps nesting along the fence line.

About Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch

My creative art practice may be be succinctly summed up in the following fantastic metaphorical quote by Kandinsky:

“Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key then another to cause vibration of the soul.”
