Materials: Mixed-media – graphite, pastel, fabric, gold thread, acrylic, oil, collage, rice papers.
Support: assembled on canvas
Techniques: drawing, stitching, cutting, gluing, lino-printing, painting, collage, assemblage.
Size: Height 1220 mm x Width 916 mm x Depth 43 mm
Symbolism:
- Abstract, Archetypal Expressionism
- ‘Trans’ – acknowledgement of transitional states and the work of the spirit through the repetition of the X’s reflecting time, movement, physical attachment (replica of stitching).
- The X’s: Vortex symbol, “As is above, so is below”, spirit/matter, heaven/earth realms, parallels, thoughts, manifestation, stitching – attachment, mesh, lattice, interconnections, signifying realms of planes – a particular level of existence, mental activity, or achievement.
- Channels, layers, gold stitching – passage, transit, conduit, levels, planes
- Vessels – embodiment of your ‘being’, inner alchemy processes, all is one, facing up – open, receive, filter, give and take, inverted dome – shelter, nurture, protect, shadow self, dualities
- Colours/fabric, rice paper collage – Primal, energy/chakra levels, alchemies, signifying realms of existence, of various planes – worldly, spiritual

Thanks Michelle. The work is currently being exhibited in my touring exhibition at Umbrella Studio, Townsville, Queensland (Australia). It is being displayed at the front window near entrance.

Thanks. Yes I do know about the tierany of distance only too well, having lived for so long now in Far North Queensland of Australia. Townsville is a 3 hour drive south from where I live; I can only rely on feedback from those in charge at the venue and a visitor comment book. One had to go through a lengthy application process for the exhibition work to be accepted and shown in the ‘Main Space’.
You are able to view the exhibition work online if you wish, at the ABC Artpost= where it is presented in slide shows (scroll down the page – you’ll see ‘slideshows’). I have also started putting up some images of the opening through twitterpic via twitter
