Tonight I saw an Angel weep,
tear off her wings and throw them at her feet.
She ripped her gown into tiny shreds,
cursed us all and wished us dead.
She threw her halo in the trash,
with a knife, her arm she started to gash.
Spitting and swearing, she called us all whores,
for killing and fighting and starting our wars.
Kicking a building she sharply exclaimed,
“You’re killing the planet, you’re fucking insane!”
Naked and bleeding she started to leave,
sobbing and stumbling down the street.
As she was fading away, I heard her say,
“Go on, fuck it up, it’s a whole new decade”.
