Watercolor painting. Original size 11×11″ Winsor-Newton pigments, 140lb Arches cold press water color paper. Done using reference photos of hollyhocks (Alcea Rosea Nigra) from my garden. Should be nearly black, but I like these colors. I rarely paint ‘just’ flowers, but hopefully this will be part of a triptych with other elements.
